Gloria Halverson - Board Secretary
Hey, hey, hey…Greetings from Board Member Gloria Halverson…
I am so blessed to have been called to participate on the Board of Trustees for CSL-LV and to have a front row seat in watching the beautiful unfoldment of this spiritual community. Truly, we are in for greatness, glad to have you along for the ride.
I found the Centers for Spiritual Living practice about 6 years ago and have been involved with the Livermore Valley Center for the last 2 years. Two things I love about this practice:
First, I love the acknowledgement that there are many paths to God. Reverend Harriet and Livermore Valley CSL clearly value this inclusion, you will hear this expressed every Sunday in our mission statement and in Reverend Harriet’s beautiful sermons. Thank you for being a trailblazer on your own individual spiritual journey as I am on mine. What I offer as a Board member and as a member of CSL-LV is recognition and celebration of your journey.
The second thing I love is the way we pray…not just the understanding of the power of our prayers…but the beautiful, rich, heartfelt expressions of our personal, individual knowledge of God. It never ceases to move me.
Have you taken any classes yet? Don’t miss this opportunity! I am always in a class and, in fact, feel like I’m missing out when I can’t take all the classes being offered.
Semi-retired from a long career as a civil servant, when I’m not working or participating in events or taking classes at CSL-LV, you’ll find me walking in Nature and communing with wild things -- favorite sitings are green herons, bluebirds, wild morning glories (you know, the white ones with the pink ruffly edges), lavender butterflies and the occasional coyote…oh, and black bears when walking at my place at Lake Pillsbury. I also like writing an occasional poem, listening to great music, dancing and hanging out with really cool people (that includes all of you, of course).
I look forward to getting to know you.
